A 2018 Bethel Park High School graduate returned to her alma mater May 7 to share her expertise in music marketing and market research with nearly 80 students across multiple marketing classes. Chelsea Hallman, a strategy and insights consultant at Targoz Market Research, led hands-on sessions for Marketing I, II and III students on how research, fan data and brand strategy shape real-world decisions in the music industry.

Neil Armstrong Middle School's fifth and sixth-grade orchestras performed their Spring Strings concert on May 11 under the direction of Mr. Rick Lang and Ms. Sarah Palermo.

The concert featured selections from composers including Brian Balmages, Richard Meyer, and Soon Hee Newbold, and closed with the world premiere of "NAMS Final Mission," an original composition written by Robert Sheffer specifically for the occasion.

Bethel Park High School inducted 27 new members into its Société Honoraire de Français chapter at the annual spring ceremony May 14, bringing total membership to 56. The French National Honor Society recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in French language and culture, requiring Bethel Park students to maintain a 90% average throughout their French studies.

Seventeen students were inducted into the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica at a ceremony May 14, recognizing their academic excellence, leadership and dedication to Spanish language studies. Eligibility requires a 3.30 GPA in Spanish and a 3.00 overall GPA in the year a student enrolls in Spanish 3, along with demonstrated character, leadership and service.

Students from Benjamin Franklin and George Washington elementary schools met in person May 14 for the first time, capping a year-long pen pal program that paired first graders from both schools to develop writing skills and build connections with peers. The meeting served as both a culmination of their correspondence and a preview of the future — this fall, the students will reunite as classmates at the newly opening Bethel Park Elementary School, where they will be joined by students from Abraham Lincoln, William Penn and Memorial elementary schools.

Ten Bethel Park track and field athletes have qualified for the WPIAL Championships on May 14 at Slippery Rock University, led by standouts such as record-breaking pole vaulter Brady McCarthy, top-five WPIAL hurdler Autumn Flowers, freshman sensation Taylor Bruckner, and several others who have excelled in their events throughout the season.

Each morning at Independence Middle School, seventh-grader Tyler Stutzman, eighth-grader Travis Boateng, and Liam Crothers carry on a 15-year tradition of raising the American flag, a program created by a student from a military family who wanted to honor those who serve. The three were selected by school staff, and each cites personal connections to military service as their inspiration.

IMS recognized a group of students and staff as its monthly Crumbl Cookies Students and Staff of the Month, honoring those who demonstrate excellence in and out of the classroom.

The Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh are offering free memberships to Pennsylvania residents ages 13 to 18, providing unlimited general admission to the Carnegie Museum of Art, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Science Center, and The Andy Warhol Museum.

Crumbl Cookies has announced its May 2026 Students of the Month. The honorees receive a certificate acknowledging their contribution to their school and community and a Bethel Park t-shirt. They also receive a $15 gift card and a free cookie from Crumbl Cookies.
