Eintracht Bethel Park, the fantasy soccer team of Bethel Park High School's German Club, finished fifth out of 27 clubs in the Goethe Institute's "Bundesliga Total!" league and earned "Herbstmeister" honors as the winter break leader—the first time the club topped standings during a season since joining in 2015. The team of junior Reed Zeis, sophomore Matthew Williams and freshman Jack Waterstram also won the "Pittsburgher Derby" as the top Western Pennsylvania team, marking the club's fifth top-five finish in the international competition.

Bethel Park School District ranked in the Top 20 among 105 regional districts and in the Top 10 among districts with at least 4,000 students in the Pittsburgh Business Times' 2026 Guide to Southwestern Pennsylvania Schools, based on three years of PSSA and Keystone test scores. Fox Chapel Area School District topped the regional rankings for the third consecutive year, with none of the top 20 districts located in the Pittsburgh area's North Hills and South Hills.

IMS students from classes taught by Dylan August, Brian Abbey, and Madeline Tyska competed in the regional middle school invention competition at Inventionland Headquarters in Pittsburgh on May 20. Students presented Shark Tank-style pitches to judges, including two company CEOs and Penn Trafford School District Superintendent Dr. Matthew Harris, after months of development work.

The Bethel Park Education Foundation's Innovation Grant enabled Independence Middle School to acquire a BambuLab multicolor 3D printer and Automatic Material System, providing students hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing and real-world product design. Students have used the equipment to create monthly Student of the Month magnets and develop skills in creativity, collaboration, problem-solving and design thinking.

Bethel Park High School French students earned 31 awards on the 91st annual Le Grand Concours National French Exam, including a historic perfect score by sophomore Mia Young—the first Bethel Park student to achieve that distinction in 35 years of district tracking. Students earned one platinum, three silver and five bronze medals, with 22 additional honorable mentions, competing against more than 46,000 students nationwide.

Bethel Park High School inducted seven students into the Delta Epsilon Phi German National Honor Society on Thursday, May 14, including senior Katharine Tabler, juniors Victoria Carberry and Alexander Skaris, sophomore Gavin DeMart, and freshmen Evan Joslin, Emma Nelson and Jack Waterstram. Members must maintain a minimum 3.6 GPA in German and 3.0 overall, demonstrate commitment to German language study, and uphold academic integrity standards.

Bethel Park is accepting letters of interest and resumes through June 17 for its new Junior Council Program, which invites high school juniors and seniors to participate in local government during the 2026-2027 school year. Bethel Park author Craig Jones recently visited fourth graders at George Washington Elementary School, offering an encouraging message about change as students prepare to transition to the district's new elementary center next school year.

Bethel Park High School freshman Naiya Turner, 15, has been selected to represent Ireland at the FIBA U16 Women's European Basketball Championship in Ioannina, Greece, Aug. 5-12. Turner, a Dublin-born combo guard whose father played professionally in Europe, earned her spot on the 12-player roster after attending two tryouts in Ireland this year.

Bethel Park High School physics students recently visited Kennywood Amusement Park as part of an annual Physics Day event, using tools like accelerometers and stopwatches to measure forces, including velocity, acceleration, and energy transfer, on rides such as the Steel Curtain and Phantom's Revenge. The hands-on trip gave students a real-world opportunity to apply classroom concepts by analyzing the physics behind the park's iconic attractions.
