Winter Sports Season Tryout Information.

Independence Middle School honored its November Students of the Month for academic achievement, leadership, and positive contributions to the school and community.

Bethel Park resident, parent, and former U.S. Marine Eric McElvenny visited Independence Middle School to share his inspiring journey from soldier to Paralympian, emphasizing the values of discipline, consistency, and resilience. Having lost part of his right leg while serving in Afghanistan, McElvenny now represents Team USA in the Paralympic triathlon and encourages students to overcome excuses, embrace challenges, and view every opportunity as a privilege.

As winter approaches, Bethel Park School District urges families to update their contact information to receive timely weather-related alerts via Focus, ParentSquare, social media, and local news. In severe weather, the district may hold Remote Learning Days on a modified two-hour delay schedule, with students expected to complete assignments and notify teachers of any connectivity issues.

Fourth graders at Ben Franklin Elementary competed in the annual "Pumpkin Chunkin’" contest, launching candy corn pumpkins with homemade, desk-sized launchers built from recycled materials. Colin won with a 161-foot launch, followed by Austin, Luca, and Coen, and each winner received a prize from the school's PTO.

Crumbl Cookies recently announced its October 2025 Students of the Month. The honorees receive a certificate acknowledging their contribution to their school and community and a Bethel Park t-shirt. They also receive a $15 gift card and a free cookie from Crumbl Cookies.

Bethel Park High School’s fall play, "CLUE," based on the cult classic film and beloved board game, will be held Nov. 5-8 at 7 p.m. The show, which costs $5 to attend, promises a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud mystery full of twists and surprises.
