Bethel Park High School Honors and AP German students earned multiple national honors on the 66th annual National German Exam, earning three Gold Awards, seven Silver Awards, one Bronze Award and five Achievement Awards among more than 12,000 participants nationwide. Top performers included seniors Katharine Tabler and Benjamin Campbell and junior Adele Stamenov, with several students also qualifying for or recognized with scholarship and achievement honors across Level 3 and Level 4 exams.

Parents of children eligible for kindergarten in the 2026–27 school year are encouraged to register online at www.bpsd.org by March 27, 2026, in order to participate in required April kindergarten screenings at district elementary schools. Beginning in fall 2026, kindergarten will be full-day at Bethel Park Elementary School, and children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2026, to enroll.

Out of an abundance of caution and in consultation with public safety officials, Bethel Park School District will continue to have Remote Learning Days for the rest of the week. Bitter cold temperatures and snow-piled and still dicey roadways continue to create unsafe conditions for students and school bus drivers, and safety remains the district’s top priority.

As always, during an RLD, students and staff work from home following the 2-Hour Delay schedule, and no transportation services will be provided to students attending parochial, specialty, or vocational schools.

The Bethel Park School District Board of School Directors recently approved an administrative recommendation to amend the 2025-26 school calendar to make up for the unexpected school cancellation on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, caused by a severe winter storm.

Snow removal at all Bethel Park Schools, including at the BPHS campus, is expected to be completed late this afternoon. All scheduled after-school activities planned for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 -- including athletic contests, the school board meeting, etc. - will proceed as planned.

Due to forecasted freezing temperatures, Bethel Park School District will operate on a Remote Learning Day on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026. The Bethel Park High School campus, including Black Hawk Drive, will close to traffic at 7 a.m. tomorrow for snow removal. Unauthorized vehicles will not be permitted, and motorists should use alternate routes until work is completed. The status of Tuesday’s after-school activities will be announced tomorrow afternoon.

Bethel Park announced its Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2025, honoring seven former student-athletes and contributors during an induction ceremony at Bethel Park High School sponsored by Allegheny Health Network. The class includes Tracy Pfister ’83, Anthony Caruso ’08, Nick Kwiatkoski ’11, Levi Metheny ’16, Nino Bonaccorsi ’17, Coach Jeff Metheny, and Distinguished Contribution Award recipient Patricia Barnitz, each recognized for their lasting impact on Bethel Park athletics.

Bethel Park High School senior Makayla O’Neill has been named the January 2026 Rotary Student of the Month in recognition of her academic excellence, leadership and service. O’Neill, a standout student-athlete with a 4.366 weighted GPA and seven varsity letters, plans to study environmental science or biology and is active in community service while balancing athletics, volunteering and personal interests.
