In a notable recognition of academic excellence, Lyla Walsh, a senior; Grace Perdziola, a junior; and Gillian Uhl, a sophomore, have each earned Certificates of Merit for their outstanding performance in math and science. Their achievements also reflect their strong interest in pursuing careers in engineering.
Walsh plans to further her education in mechanical engineering at the University of Florida. Perdziola is considering a career in either biomedical or mechanical engineering, while Uhl, who is still exploring her options, is equally committed to pursuing a path in engineering.
Mrs. Andrea Stillmak, sponsor of the Girls in Engineering club, expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments. “As the sponsor of the Girls in Engineering club, I am very proud of these girls as club members and as students in general. They are each very deserving of this recognition,” Stillmak said.
The recognition of these three students not only highlights their individual achievements but also underscores the growing emphasis on encouraging young women to explore careers in engineering and STEM fields. Their dedication and hard work serve as an inspiration to their peers and the broader community.
