Bethel Park’s Walsh Earns the University of Florida’s Prestigious National Merit Scholarship

Bethel Park High School senior Lyla Walsh has been named a 2025 University of Florida National Merit Scholarship recipient, an honor awarded in partnership with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Walsh will attend the Gainesville-based university this fall.

“I was very excited to learn that I was awarded a scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation,” said Walsh. “Winning this scholarship would not have been possible without the education I received through the Bethel Park School District.”

National Merit Scholarship recipients are selected for their academic excellence, leadership, and PSAT/NMSQT performance. Walsh’s scholarship is funded by the University of Florida, which offers merit-based tuition awards to high-achieving out-of-state students through a holistic review of their admissions applications.
