Bethel Park senior earns Gold Award

Bethel Park senior Lyla Walsh earned the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award for her project, "A Girl’s Guide to Engineering Camp," aimed at addressing the gender gap in engineering. Walsh designed and hosted the four-day camp, bringing in women engineers to inspire young girls. A dedicated Girl Scout for 12 years, Walsh also serves as the president of the Student Government Association, plays the cello, and teaches guitar. She plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering after graduation. Walsh's achievement will be celebrated at a ceremony in the spring.
